FLEURON GARDEN
Concept Statement: "Printers' Flowers"
Fleuron Garden is a typography conference which celebrates the designs of Printers’ Flowers. The fleuron, deriving from the old French Floron for flower, is a typographic element or glyph used for decoration in typographic compositions. Fleurons are often found in elegant classic layouts such as borders, title pages and historical books. Fleurons are ornamental forms of flowers and leaves stylized in many ways to beautify and enhance a design.
The Fleuron Garden poster design was made with attractive organic ornaments to accompany the type. The title was hand-drawn in a style similar to flowers and displayed in large size to showcase its detail. The fleuron, being symmetric in design, helped ornate the poster while delivering a balance that agreed with the typography.
