Concept Statement: "Compass of Adventure"

Jules Verne, an impressive writer of all time has often been regarded as the “Father of Science-Fiction”. His greatest novels are the definition of adventure, exploration and legends. The idea for this project was to design a series of book covers that would successfully connect with the theme of each story. Jules Verne’s classic titles Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Around the World in 80 days, and 20,000 Leagues under the Sea all follow the same concept of adventurous expeditions. 

The design of each book cover portrays a compass while adding fragments of each story. The soft earth tone colours used in each design relate to the vintage style of Verne’s time. The modern typography compliments each book adding an appealing contrast with the classic elements of the story.
