FIERY WATER
Concept Statement: "Flavours of Tradition"
Fiery Water is known as the most traditional liquor of Colombia; it is derived from the sugarcane which is abundant in the Andean region. Fiery Water is considered a strong alcoholic beverage obtained by fermentation and distillation of the sugarcane. The unique anise-flavoured liquor has maintained the title of the most sought after alcoholic beverage in all the regions of Colombia.
The concept of this project come from the history of how Fiery Water was made. Fiery Water alcohol was created by the indigenous people of Colombia. Before it became well known, the indigenous people made this mysterious beverage with a custom artisan-handcrafted machine that would grind the sugarcane, thus extracting the juice needed for fermentation.
As new flavours were added, different types of traditional artisan machines were made to cater to each unique flavour. The design on each label has a corresponding flavour along with its artisan machine. Trapiche being the authentic flavour uses the colour green representing the sugarcane along with the artisan machine that grinds and extracts the juice. Canelazo, represented in the yellow label is the second flavour which is made with cinnamon on a traditional large mud oven. The label in blue, Escarcha is the third flavour made with anise in the artisan Alambique machine. The last flavour is the popular Mistela which is made from coffee beans that are grinded in the traditional Moliniño. Together this liquor project forms the Fiery Water premium collection.
